First edition, very rare, of this compendium on the theory of the human mind for students, written by the Franciscan, Odoardo del Giudice.

His account tackles contemporary philosophies, such as materialism, in ample footnotes, which include detailed responses to many thinkers of the Enlightenment, such as Bayle and Holbach.

Very rare: OCLC records only three copies outside of Italy (BNE, Saint Bonaventure University, and Chicago), and a few of the second edition, published in altered circumstances in 1825.
