Very rare undated (proof?) edition, with manuscript corrections, of this concise essay on contemporary Rome and the Catholic church, from the Rossetti family library. Although he was a Freemason, Gabriele Rossetti consistently asserted he was ‘un buon cattolico’ and the most pious of his many talented children became a nun. A dated edition of this essay was published in London in 1840. Of this undated printing Library Hub shows one copy only, at Senate House. Not in Giannantonio.
